John Lavall
An Emmy award-winning producer and director from Rhode Island, John started Devlo Media in 1997. After working on several independent narrative films, John realized his true passion lies within the genre of non-fiction films. He went on to produce several documentary films, which have gathered him several film festival awards nationally and internationally. Devlo Media has since produced projects in over 17 countries and across the US. Devlo Media was recently commissioned by the Al Jazeera Program, Witness, to produce the documentary film Mind Over Battle, the story of former Los Angeles gang member Javier Chavez.

Kate Kelley
An award-winning photographer and cinematographer with a polished documentary style and awareness for design and composition. Working independently as a photographer, Kate’s clients included America’s Test Kitchen, Boston Magazine, and Converse. After working with John on the film, Leh Wi Tok, as both a photographer and shooting additional photography for the film, a new love for cinematography was discovered. She works fluidly in both photography and cinematography for many diverse projects. Kate attended Massachusetts College of Art and Design where she earned a BFA in Photography, graduating with departmental honors.
