Day Off In Hong Kong
Day Off In... Is a new series of photographs and cinematography that we produce when we have a day off to spare when on location. This recent project was shot in Hong Kong -- We shot a lot of time-lapse photography and some video using a Canon 5D Mark III, Canon C300 and our new Genie Motion Control Time Lapse Device from Syrp. We also used our favorite composer Emmett Cooke for the soundtrack.

Excerpt from our documentary film Leh Wi Tok (Let Us Talk) - This clip features Foday's Sajuma talking about the town of Kailahun, tragically recent Ebola cases in Sierra Leone are centred in the country's eastern districts of Kenema and Kailahun, just over the border from the Guekedou region of Guinea where the outbreak started.
Leh Wi Tok (Let Us Talk) is a documentary about radio journalist Andrew Kromah and his efforts to grow an independent network of community-based radio stations in his home country, Sierra Leone. Amidst flagrant and persistent political harassment, financial and technical woes, Andrew literally puts his life on the line to bring information to his listeners and offer a platform to disparate and often unheard voices.

An industry of the Bones
"An industry of the Bones" is a multimedia project that follows the process of making jewelry out animal bones. Cow bone, specifically, is boiled to make a soup and the left over bones are used for this jewelry. Our host, Fatuma Noor, works with local craftspeople in her hometown of Kibera. Noor helps the craftspeople by providing access to buyers and distributing their goods throughout East Africa. Kibera, located 7km southwest of Nairobi, is the largest and most densely populated slum in Sub-Saharan Africa. Close to 1 million people live in an environment heavily polluted by soot, dust, and open sewage. There are more than 100,000 orphaned children living there, the majority orphaned by the AIDS virus.
Stills were shot using a Canon 5D Mark II and video was shot using the new Canon C300.
Produced by Kate Kelley and John Lavall.
This is Marlboro
We produced a four part video series for Marlboro College as well as providing all of the photography for their award-winning view book: case.org/Documents/Awards/Circle_of_Excellence/DES_Gold_Marlboro.pdf This is the first in the series that provides an overview of the school.
The goal of the undergraduate program at Marlboro College is to teach students to think clearly and to learn independently through engagement in a structured program of liberal studies. Students are expected to develop a command of concise and correct English and to strive for academic excellence informed by intellectual and artistic creativity; they are encouraged to acquire a passion for learning, discerning judgment and a global perspective. The college promotes independence by requiring students to participate in the planning of their own programs of study and to act responsibly within a self-governing community.
